Nature
Metalskolen Jørlunde is surrounded by 23 acres of parkland, protected forest, a lake, courtyards and green views as far as the eye can see, including direct access to the Buresø swimming lake. When you stroll through the landscape, all you hear is birdsong –far from the noise of the city and cars. There are plenty of opportunities to include breaks in your programme and allow the fresh air.
We are happy to advise you on ways to utilise the natural surroundings for an energy boost in the middle of the day or to relax in the evening after day of learning.

Metalskolen Jørlunde cares about nature, and we have designated several areas where nature had free reign – beautiful places to go for walks and enjoy the colourful flowers and buzzing bees. You can also visit the cutting gardens where we grow flowers for our decorations.

Buresø lake is a short distance from Metalskolen Jørlunde. In summer, you can borrow a canoe for a trip on the lake or take a refreshing swim in the clean water.

The forest areas surrounding Metalskolen Jørlunde invite walks or bike rides winding through the wild undergrowth in the shade of the tall trees. You are welcome to borrow one of our mountain bikes to explore the beautiful landscape. We also recommend an evening walk in the forest.

At Metalskolen Jørlunde, we are very aware of biodiversity and what we can do to help the wild bee population, as several varieties are already extinct. Read more about wild bees and bee hotels at Metalskolen Jørlunde here.

Even in winter, the lake has beauty to offer. Go for a refreshing walk and enjoy the landscape from its cold but beautiful side.
Enjoy a quiet moment in green surroundings. You can spend your leisure time in the fresh air for a quiet moment alone or with your new acquaintances. If you choose to go for a walk, we recommend visiting the famed Teddy’s house from the Danish children’s TV show Bamse & Kylling, and not far from here you can enjoy the view of Buresø. You can also request our Biodiversity Map and explore some of the designated biodiversity areas in our 23-acre park.
