It has clear, calcareous water with light for the bottom plants and a good fish population. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"et_pb_row_1 et_pb_row et_flex_row preset--module--divi-row--default\">\r\n\r\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_1 et_pb_column et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_12_24 et_flex_column_12_24_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone et_flex_column_12_24_tabletWide\">\r\n\r\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_2 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p>Birdlife is abundant around the lake, attracting migratory birds in spring and autumn as they pass through the area on their journey between breeding and wintering grounds. Ducks such as Mallard, Widgeon and Troll Duck are often seen swimming on the lake. <\/p>\n<p>In the air you may be lucky enough to spot a Sparrowhawk or the very large Goshawk, which is hunting for small mammals in the surrounding forests and fields.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_2 et_pb_column et-last-child et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough the Reed Warbler, Reed Sparrow and Nightingale, and of the larger species, the Great Egret likes to visit.<\/p>\n<p>Of the butterflies, you will typically see the Woodland Warbler, the White C and the Little Firebird, but rarities such as the Wood and Meadow Pearl Butterfly and the Dark Spotted Wing have also been observed around the forests at protected since 1934, and today Bures\u00f8 is protected by Natura 2000 as a Habitat area. This means that no changes may be made to the protected habitat types and wild animal and plant species that are rare, endangered or characteristic of EU countries. <\/p>\n<p>If you are lucky enough to see a Newt along the shore of the lake, please note that they are all protected and the large Newt is also protected under Natura 2000.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"et_pb_column_5 et_pb_column et-last-child et_flex_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough et_flex_column_12_24 et_flex_column_12_24_tablet et_flex_column_24_24_phone et_flex_column_12_24_tabletWide\">\r\n\r\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_9 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_flex_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p>Fishing from land is prohibited, and only fishing with rods or loose lines is allowed. There are also several restrictions on nets and traps. Pike, Perch and Sculpin are the most common fish in Bures\u00f8.
