Sustainable kitchen<\/h2>\n

In the kitchen, the food is prepared from fresh, seasonal and predominantly organic ingredients, which has earned the Silver Label for organic food. We use local suppliers whenever possible. <\/p>\n

The menu often features fish, and several days a week there are vegetarian and vegan options to reduce meat consumption without compromising the quality of the meal. Food waste is a focus area, and careful accounting is done by weighing kitchen waste to systematically monitor any waste. <\/p>\n

There is a strong focus on recycling \u2013 for example, cooking oil is purified so that it can be used multiple times, and plastic containers are cleaned and recycled. Disposable plastic tableware is being phased out, and compostable materials are used where necessary. <\/p>\n

Waste sorting has become a natural part of everyday life throughout the house, and waste is sorted into 6 different categories.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Consume wisely<\/h2>\n

Metalskolen J\u00f8rlunde's own small \"Mini power plant\" produces electricity using biogas purchased on certificates and covers 1\/3 of the entire electricity consumption. A brand new cooling system future-proofs the operation, and the room heating is regulated via CTS. <\/p>\n

The installation of a soft water system means that we use fewer and less harsh cleaning products, most of which are Nordic Ecolabelled. All windows have been replaced for better insulation, and all toilets have been given double flushing, which allows guests to save water. <\/p>\n

The lighting in hallways and meeting rooms is controlled via PIR, which means we avoid unnecessary consumption of electricity due to lights that are left on and not turned off.<\/p>\n

It is possible to charge your electric car at Metalskolen - we have a partnership with EON and CLEVER.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Protected nature and renewed energy<\/h2>\n

On the 23 acres of land, we have created winding gravel paths that encourage exercise and reflection, helping you on your way to better well-being and mental health. You can also pick up the pace with a ride on one of our mountain bikes or a boat trip on Bures\u00f8 in one of the canoes we provide. <\/p>\n

We protect the natural and cultural heritage around the M\u00f8lle\u00e5en River and look after the protected areas on the property. The landscape in the M\u00f8lle\u00e5en Nature Park consists largely of protected nature in the form of streams, bogs, meadows and pastures. At the end of the M\u00f8lle\u00e5en tunnel valley, where the Metalskolen is located, you can see the hill Stenesknold, which is a marginal moraine from the ice age, where the ice edge was at Slangerup. <\/p>\n

With a focus on biodiversity and natural habitats, lawns are being converted into flower and meadow areas.<\/p>\n

As a Green Key member, we commit to meeting strict requirements for energy saving and sustainability, and to continuing to develop the green experience at the School of Metals.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Good working environment for everyone<\/h2>\n

At Metalskolen, we value our employees and see the value in a diverse mix of people with different skills and resources. Our Equal Treatment and Diversity Policy helps ensure that everyone is treated equally. <\/p>\n

One of our strong values is that everyone should have the opportunity for education and better access to the labor market. That's why we employ both students and apprentices, and provide opportunities for internships and work trials in various fields. <\/p>\n

Part of the Metal School trains Dansk Metal's union and working environment representatives to be able to guide their colleagues on, among other things, further education, working environment and conditions. They thus help to ensure better working conditions at their companies. <\/p>\n

Suppliers are chosen with care, and we require that they comply with human rights and have a collective agreement with a relevant trade union.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

ESG and sustainability<\/h3>\n

ESG and sustainability are two closely related concepts that have become increasingly relevant in business in recent years.<\/p>\n
